What is that Ryo-oki? *Meow!! Meow!!* Tenchi's fell down the well? Ryo-oki is that cute little furry thing that people look at and say, "What in the wide world of animals is THAT?!?". She is a cabbit who was born from Ryoko's space craft Ryo-oki (half cat, half rabbit), coming into the world in episode 3 of the OVA series, "Hello Ryo-oki" (suprised right?). Almost as soon as she was born, she met Sasami, and they are inseparable. She loves, and when I say loves, I mean she'll kill for, carrots. In fact, because she eats so many carrots, Tenchi had to turn the whole vegetable garden into one crop. Can you guess what that is? Yeah, you can. The gem that she has (which is located on her forhead) gives her energy, which means she doesn't need to eat but she just likes the taste of carrots and this also means that she has a bottom-less appetite meaning she can eat all she wants and still not gain weight. Ryo-oki has the ability to "recreate" herself. When she dies, she lays an egg which will hatch in days to give birth to Ryo-oki again. What's her secret girls? Well orignally she was created by Washuu using Mass, which is the original element of, well, everything. She was also created having a telepathic link with Ryoko in which they can communicate over quite far distances. She was also used by Ryoko to attack the planet Jurai when Kagato wanted to bluntly get the power of Tsunami. Though she's all cute and cuddle most of the time, when battle comes around, she's one tough cookie. When needed, she transforms into Ryo-oki, Ryoko's space craft. Confused? Well, don't be. While she is pretty much Sasami's pet, and Ryoko's space ship, she also loves Tenchi quite dearly, which we learned in OVA episode 10 "I love Tenchi". Also in that episode she assimliates with a huge group of Mass to both save Tenchi's life as well as gain another body in which she can present herself, in either child or adult form. Her true love is split between either eating carrots or Ken-oki, who is Bounty Hunter Nagi's Cabbit.

In this series, Ryo-oki is just a bit different from the role she plays in the other two series. Here, she is Sasami's full time pet and has no relation to Ryoko what so ever. And she also has the ability to turn into a large, cabbit-like Robot that Sasami can pilot.

Whether Ryo-oki is crusing through space, eating the world's supply of carrots, or destroying evil spirits created by an expelled Jurain experimenter, she will always be that cute and cuddly little cabbit whose charms no one can withstand.
