Yosho is the son of Azusa, the Jurian emperor, and Funaho, an Earthling. Some of the Jurain people did not like their bloodline being tainted (they did not want non-Jurain people to marry Jurain people).

Yosho did not want people to cause trouble when he inherieted the throune (because he is a half-blooded Jurain) so he left Jurai to defeat Ryoko. Yosho's ship got damaged when he crashlanded on Earth, so now he couldn't return to Jurai.

Yosho is not really old, but his appearance was altered by Tsunami so people on Earth won't get suspicious. He married a girl and Achika was born. He inherited the Masaki shrine and trains Tenchi.

Yosho can produce one lighthawk wing and weilds the Tenchi-ken (the sword).
